What is entropy?

Post  broseph on Thu Jan 24, 2013 5:17 pm

I have taken two years of chemistry, and I have been fine with this idea. Then I had to go and take a few proof based math classes, and when I look back at the topic i don't understand. What is it? Is there a simple, rigorous, and accurate definition?
