Standard enthalpy of neutralization

Post  nusaiba mustafa on Thu Apr 30, 2015 5:47 am

50cm3 of sodium hydroxide solution of concentration 0.4M required 20cm3 of sulfuric acid of concentration 0.5M for neutralization. A temperature rise of 3.6 degree celsius was observed if both solutions and the calorimeter were initially at the same temperature. Calculate the standard enthalpy of neutralization of sodium hydroxide solution with sulphuric acid. The heat capacity of calorimeter is 39.0J/K. The specific heat capacity of all solutions is 4.2J/K/g

What have you done in attempting to solve this problem? I can help, but you need to show that you've applied some degree of effort to solve the problem on your own. Doc
