Sketch (lewis structure) of IF4+

Post  thewhatever on Tue Jun 30, 2009 10:08 am

okay I know that I has 7 valence electrons and F has 7*4 and the + means we take one away, so we have 34 valence electrons. So there would be 3 pairs of electrons plus a bond on all the F connecting to the I in the middle,to equal 32, then I would put the extra pair on the I, correct?
