Hello Eswar, the principle of solubility states that "like dissolves like". Most organic molecules are usually soluble in organic solvents (e.g. diethyl ether, dichloromethane ,chloroform, petroleum ether, hexanes etc.). This is the phenomenon of solubilty of organic compounds in ethers. As Organic Chemistry needs a lot of practice and practice will be very helpful to you in your M.Sc.

hello jyoti, nice to met u.
i am asking about that inorganic compouds are desolving in water with formation of hydrogen bonding or ionistion. like that organic compouds are how desolving in ether like solvents.

hello eswar, m also glad to meet to u too.
Polar solvents (e.g., water, ether) favour formation of ions.
so i hope this will solve your problem and you should also practice a lot about electrochemistry basics

The solubility of organic compounds nearly always increases with temperature. The technique of recrystallization, used for purification of solids, depends on a solute's different solubilities in hot and cold solvent. A few exceptions exist, such as certaincyclodextrins.Hopes it can help you.

solubility of organic compounds in diethyl ether

Post  Thesci3141 on Sun Dec 26, 2010 4:06 pm

One of the best books to have for anyone studying chemistry is: CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics. It contains A wealth of information. Check;physical constants of organic compounds in this book for solubilities of organics in various solvents including diethyl ether
