The nature and role of Strontium hydroxide

Strontium hydroxide is a colorless crystal or white powder. Easy to deliquescence, absorb carbon dioxide in the air into carbonates, dry air can be lost in the seven crystal water molecules. Strontium hydroxide dissolved in water and acid, slightly soluble in cold water, for the preparation of various strontium salts. Strontium hydroxide is widely used in Europe, beet sugar refining process, which Mr. disaccharide to form insoluble salts, after separation, refined, with carbon dioxide at the time, again sugar release, while generating insoluble strontium carbonate. In addition, it is also used as a stabilizer of polyethylene plastic, used to prepare various strontium salts and strontium-wax lubrication, and improve the dry oil and paint drying and so on.

Strontium is chemical compound having atomic number 38. It is present in period - 2 of periodic table. It is radioactive substance so it wil have certain half-life period and it has 4 isotopes.

strontium form various compounds such as Hydroxide. Its hydroxide has a chemical formula Sr(OH)2. It is alkali compound.
