lewis structure of Urea

Post  pplantblues on Thu Nov 27, 2008 9:40 pm

Nitrogen-fixing bacteria convert urea [H2NC(O)NH2] into nitrate ions (NO2^-). Draw the lewis structure for these two species. Include all resonance forms (include double headed arrow). Add any formal charges to the atoms. The formal charges will add up to the ion charge. HINT: there is a C=O bond in urea.
