Connection between Density and Periods (in the Periodic Table)? [Help Please!!]

Post  das_chem on Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:02 pm

I was wondering if there was any relationship between the density of an element and the Period it is in..
For example: You find the density of an unknown element, using the densities of other elements that are in the same group. You do this by graphing the density and the periods in a line graph.
However, how and why does this connection happen??

-Thanks.

Helllo
as we move along the period the size of atom goes on decreasing so as density=mass/volume and mass increases so the proportion by which mass increase to volume decrease gives density.
These can be more clarified if we will see them in video type format electrochemistry-basics
