Site very hard to find?

Post  karooomph on Tue Jan 06, 2009 11:36 am

I've noticed that often, I have trouble finding the site on google.
First in the beginning, I didn't realize it was formotion, but that isn't really a problem once you get used to it.

it just happens that if you search "chemistryformotion", or "chemistryformotion.com", it doesn't display any search results, and it misleads newcomers by going, "did you mean, chemistry formation?"

chemistry.formotion does work though

So I'm just a bit concerned that new-comers would have problems finding this site?

*This other guy mentioned something about domain, I'm unclear about that, maybe you should look into that

Thanks

I manually entered the keyword I wanted for Google when I made the site. The ones I entered were "chemistry forums". Searching those words should give you a hit to this site on about the 10th or so link. It may be on the second page, but it's definitely there.

Does it cost money to include a website in a search engine's results?

Nope, it's free (at least with search engines like Google that send bots to automatically add websites to their database). There are non-free services to help make websites appear closer to the first result in search engines, though.

Well said, every new comers have problem in searching sites on Google. But that's not a big issue, if you try the correct selection.
