How does a porous pot work in a Daniell Cell?

Post  Modrisco on Thu Apr 19, 2012 9:13 am

I understand how a galvanic cell works, and I've heard that porous pot works like a salt bridge..

Can someone explain how it works like a salt bridge?

Thank you:)

I think I understand now, the negative ion passes through the porous pot to neutalize the build up of Zn+2 ions?
